Shoulder Sleeve Insignia


Description/Blazon
A shield shape device 3 inches (7.62 cm) in height and 2 1/4 inches (5.72 cm) in width overall, divided per pairle white, scarlet and blue, overall a green laurel wreath surmounted by a silver gray sword palewise fimbriated white, in chief a yellow compass rose radiating from the sword tip; all within a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) yellow border.

Symbolism
The white, scarlet, and blue background represents the parent command, Army Materiel Command. The sword symbolizes protecting the Homeland and the constant state of readiness. Gold is emblematic of excellence and high ideals. The compass rose stands for the worldwide mission of the organization and also alludes to the desert sun of Southwest Asia, area of responsibility of the Brigade. The laurel, awarded by the ancient Greeks to scholars and soldiers, signifies honor and victory.

Background
The shoulder sleeve insignia was approved effective 16 September 2007.  It was cancelled by HQDA, G-1 directive on 21 February 2010.(TIOH Dwg. No. A-1-930)




Distinctive Unit Insignia


Description/Blazon
A gold color metal and enamel device 1 3/16 inches (3.02 cm) in height overall consisting of a blue shield with a gold globe issuant from base showing Southwest Asia, perched on top of the globe is a bald eagle in Proper colors with its wing tips extending beyond the shield edge, all below three gold stars in chief chevronwise. The shield is supported by a white scroll on dexter side and a bundle of three gold arrows on sinister side, all enclosed around the bottom by a red scroll inscribed "CONFERRE AB CONFIRMATUS" in gold letters.

Symbolism
Red, white and blue reflect the Army Materiel Command colors. The globe represents the organization's worldwide mission with a focus on the Southwest Asia area. The bald eagle, symbol of vigilance and strength, highlights the United States and the Brigade's presence worldwide. The three stars denote the three senior contingency contracting teams of the Brigade. The arrows represent the combat and contingency missions of support to the soldier. The scroll symbolizes the contracting mission, providing logistical support for the warfighter through contracting. The motto translates to "Focused and Determined."
